Client: Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital
Sector: Healthcare / Pediatric Rehabilitation / Patient Education

The Problem

Holland Bloorview needed a child-friendly inpatient orientation video to help patients and families understand what to expect during a hospital rehabilitation stay. The video needed to answer common questions, reduce uncertainty, and make the hospital experience feel more welcoming.

The Strategic Challenge

The audience included both children and parents, which meant the content had to be informative without feeling clinical, warm without losing clarity, and comprehensive without overwhelming viewers. The project needed to reduce anxiety before and during the hospital experience.

The Solution

BIGSIX MEDIA produced an inpatient orientation video guided by Tai, a former patient, who takes viewers through the hospital in a relatable and reassuring way. The video used a patient-led approach to make the orientation feel personal, friendly, and easy to understand.

The Deliverables

Main orientation video, hospital tour footage, patient-led narration, child-friendly educational content, and a clear visual walkthrough of key spaces, amenities, and services.

The Outcome

The video helped patients and families feel more prepared, informed, and reassured. According to the portfolio description, families expressed gratitude for the warm, informative guidance, and the video helped alleviate anxiety about the inpatient experience.
